Welcome New Director!

The Dansville Public Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Margo Prak has been appointed as Library Director. She succeeds Teresa Dearing, who retired at the end of October.
Margo joins us from the Bloomfield Public Library, where she had been Director since 2019. At Bloomfield, she oversaw management of all library services, and provided technology assistance, collection development, and outreach in the small, rural community. Under her leadership, the library underwent a renovation, using NY State Aid for Library Construction, to make library space more easily accessible to all patrons and community members.
Margo holds a Master of Library Science degree from the University at Buffalo and earned a BA in English and Secondary Education from SUNY Geneseo. She began her public library career, just up the street from here, as a Clerk at the Livonia Public Library. With over five years of experience working in the Pioneer Library System, she is well equipped to manage Dansville’s participation in both the OWWL circulation system and OverDrive services.
Native to the Buffalo-area, Margo has spent the last fifteen years working and living in Livingston and Monroe Counties.  Besides her love of reading, she enjoy spending time with her family and pets, getting outdoors as much as she possibly can.
She is looking forward to getting to know the Dansville Public Library users and supporters and the opportunity to serve the Dansville community.
Congratulations to Margo in her new role and welcome to the library!
