Master Gardener Julie Brocklehurst-Woods returns to the Library to present a helpful gardening workshop, “Reducing Damage from Deer in Your Garden” on Saturday March 31 2018 at 10:00 AM. She will highlight strategies to protect your garden including physical barriers, repellents, scare tactics, and plants that are less preferred or deer proof. Presidents’ Day Feb 19 Holiday
The Library will be closed on Monday, February 19 in recognition of Presidents’ Day. It will re-open on Tuesday, February 20 at 10 AM.
Family Night @ the Movies Feb 13
The Library is holding its bi-weekly Family Night at the Movies with the first show on Tuesday evening, February 13 at 5:30 p.m. Pizza and drinks will be available. This week’s program is sponsored by Tony’s Pizza and Peter Goins. The next program will be Tuesday, February 27.
Children’s Tea Party Feb 24
February 24 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm EST
The Annual Children’s Tea Party sponsored by the Friends of the Library will be held Saturday February 24 beginning at 11 a.m. Each child can bring his or her special guest for a light lunch, music and stories. Children of all ages are welcome to attend, though each person must have a ticket for entry. Tickets are available at the Library’s Main Desk for a recommended donation of $3.00 person. A drawing for a tea set and a book will be held.
Basic Yoga with Kate Feb 10
On Saturday, February 10, Kate Drake will present Basic Yoga–Body Mindfulness at Dansville Public Library from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Kate is a Yoga Alliance 500 member, and completed her certification in therapeutic yoga in 2017. She combines her practice with her Occupational Therapist skills. She opened “Every Body’s Yoga Studio” in 2008. This beginners’ session is free and always provides a comfortable yoga practice you can take home with you. Call 585-335-6720 to register.
To the Library Day Feb 3!
On February 3, children ages 3 – 6 years old, are invited to bring their Family with to the Library to view a Drive-In Movie from 10 a.m. to Noon. Children will create and decorate their own “car” in which they can sit and watch a movie. Refreshments will be available.
Also, during the Library’s open hours, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., parents and caregivers are encouraged to visit to register their children to borrow books, sign up preschoolers for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten reading program, and enjoy toys, games and books in the Dansville Rotary Club’s Children’s Story Alcove . Refreshments will be available.

First Friday Game Night Feb 2
On Friday, February 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. you can join us for family board game night! There will be lots of games to play including Clue, Monopoly, Scrabble, Candyland, and many more of your favorites! Attention Lego lovers, inventors and future engineers! On Friday, January 26 at 3:00 p.m., join us for this special Maker Space event where kids can create, invent, and build using all sorts of Legos! “Little Bits” For Kids Jan 13
Space is limited, so please sign up your children ages 5 to 13 for a “Little Bits” Maker Space program at the Library on Saturday January 13, 10 AM to Noon.
