Lady Long Rider April 29

On Monday, April 29 at 6:00 p.m., “Lady Long Rider” Bernice Ende will present a fascinating slide show and book signing regaling all listeners with stories of adventures and hardships as she traveled  across North America on horseback.   Books will be available for personal autographing.

Wiggle & Bop Story Time May 2

Ms. Mary Ellen, children’s services coordinator, will present WIGGLE AND BOP on two Thursdays, April 25 and May 2 at 10:30 a.m.  Wiggle and Bop is a music and movement class for children ages 12 months to 3 years old.    Youngsters will delight in songs and movement activities intended to build motor and social skills.  These sessions also provide an opportunity to increase independence and language ability in your child, all essential to child development.  In addition, they are fun!  Provided with shakers, beanbags, scarves, stories  and other items, you child will move to the music and learn to keep the beat.  For more information, call the Library at 585-335-6720.

Very Fairy Tea Party Apr 27

Friends of the Dansville Public Library  present the Library’s annual Tea Party on April 27 at 11:00 a.m.  Each child is invited to join us and to bring their own special guest.   The Very Fairy Tea Party is open to children of all ages and their special guest.  When you attend, you will be served a light lunch, beverages, and enjoy music, a craft and stories.   There is room for more children to attend, so please stop by or call the Library to register at 585-335-6720.

Take Your Child To Library Day Feb 2

Join us at the library on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 12 Noon-2 p.m. for Take Your Child to the Library Day, an international initiative that encourages families everywhere to take their children to their local library. Families can enjoy crafts and refreshments! Browse the children’s book collection and learn more about your public library! Don’t miss this special event that raises community awareness about the importance of the library in the life of a child, and promotes library services and programs for children and families.

1000 Books B4K Jan 26

The Library will hold its first 1000 Books Celebration of the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program on January 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.  Children who have completed any of their reading goals — 100 books, 200 books, etc. — will be recognized for their achievement on this special day.  Children who haven’t yet achieved their first goal are also welcome to attend the Celebration.  Invitations to registered readers are being mailed, and Ms. Mary Ellen is requesting RSVPs as soon as possible so that she can complete her preparations for awards, and refreshments, and special activities.   If your preschooler would like to sign up for the program, please stop in the Library to register and receive the Start Up Packet.  New registrations are accepted at any time.

Baby’s Book Buddies Startup Jan 16

Ms. Mary Ellen  presents the  Winter session of Baby’s Book Buddies which will be held every Wednesday at 10 a.m.  This early literacy program for those ages 6 months to 3 years old instills a love of reading in children, helping to prepare him or her for success in school.   Each baby will learn new words, songs and fingerplays, and have an opportunity for “play” with new friends.  Please call the Library at 585-335-6720 to register so that Ms. Mary Ellen will know to how many children to expect to attend.    All the books read in Baby’s Book Buddies qualify for our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program.  Registration forms for 1000 B4K will be available.
