Artist Jay Pullman Displays Paintings in Holden Gallery

Largely self taught, artist Jay Pullman of Arkport, works in several media: oil, watercolor, charcoal, graphite, and–more recently–pen and ink. He believes serious painting is more than recreation or therapy: it is intense creative work. Since retirement, Jay has been able to concentrate on his painting. Jay’s work will be on display at the Library until Oct 15.

Livingston County’s Surprising Wine Story

The Friends of the Library presents "Livingston County’s Surprising Wine Story" with retired Geneseo Professor, Gary Cox, a local winegrower. The program will be held Tuesday September 22 at 6:30 p.m. The presentation offers a history of 2 wineries still in business today, O-Neh-Da and Deer Run; both survived prohibition. Light refreshments and wine tastings will be available.

Friends of Library Announce Winners

The Friends of the Dansville Public Library raised $1440 from their Summer Raffle. The drawing was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, just before closing. These proceeds will be contributed to the Library to purchase two new computers to replace units nearly 8 years old. Congratulations to the winners: Marilyn Robin received the L. Mert Wager art print and goodie basket, & Gerri Long received the handmade afghan and goodie basket.

Used Book Sale a Huge Success

Dansville Public Library’s 39th Annual Used Book Sale held during Dogwood Week experienced another success. Total income received was $3486.90. The Book Sale is conducted by many volunteers and members of Friends of the Library. Donations are accepted throughout the year. Please: NO encyclopedias, Readers Digest Condensed Books or magazines.
