The Library Is Open For Business!

The boiler at the Library has received a replacement "sensor." The building was without hot water, also, but Library Staff are pleased to announce the return to normal business as of 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. Borrowers are urged to stop in to stock up on books and movies before closing on Wednesday at 5 p.m. for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Friends Fence Challenge Continues

The Friends of the Library have responded to a challenge from an anonymous donor who pledges to donate up to $5000 if donors will match that amount. Time is of the essence as the donor wishes to donate by Christmas! Funds will be used toward completing the Library fence along Main Street. The Friends began a funding campaign Thanksgiving Week and have reached donations totaling just over $2500. Anyone interested in donating can contact the Library at 585-335-6720. Information and donation forms are available at the desk. The cost of the fence extension is more than $13,000 and the Library will seek additional funding to cover the balance of the cost.

Holden Gallery Features Artist Lois Buchinger

The newest artist in the Gallery is Lois Buchinger. Lois began painting in 1965 and though she has taken a number of classes, she is primarily self taught. Her paintings are meant to be uplifting, her own spiritual expression of joy. She has been featured at Wyoming and Livingston County galleries, and the beauty of nature is a driving force in her work. Stop in soon and sign the guest book.

Artist Jay Pullman Displays Paintings in Holden Gallery

Largely self taught, artist Jay Pullman of Arkport, works in several media: oil, watercolor, charcoal, graphite, and–more recently–pen and ink. He believes serious painting is more than recreation or therapy: it is intense creative work. Since retirement, Jay has been able to concentrate on his painting. Jay’s work will be on display at the Library until Oct 15.
