Reopening When?

Dansville Public Library is working with the Pioneer Library System and will reopen during Phase 4 of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s plan.  Please check back HERE for more details as they become available.

In accordance with NY Forward, the Centers for Disease Control/Prevention, and  OSHA guidelines we are developing local reopening procedures.  In addition we are acquiring required Personal Protective Equipment and supplies so everyone can be safe when visiting the library.

We thank you for your patience!  We certainly miss all of YOU and look forward to serving the community again soon!

Remember — You Count!

Less than 50% of us in Livingston County have filed our Census survey!  The Livingston County Complete Count Committee reminds us all:  From hospitals, libraries, and schools to roads, social programs, and highways, your response helps shape our County’s future!  In fact, your response is critical!  The Census determines how many representatives in State and Federal government will speak for us.  Our population numbers  help determine the total State and Federal funding for each of our communities.  Please file your Census TODAY!

Census and Ancestry.com News

Greetings from the Staff at Dansville Public Library during the COVID 19 shutdown:

ITEM #1 Please be sure to answer your Census 2020 filing! This is so important for state and federal funding resources. It really matters to YOUR LIBRARY! You can answer online, by telephone, and eventually by paper. Help protect live Census workers by using one of these easy social-distancing response methods! And do your part in Livingston, Steuben and Allegany Counties to achieve our goal of a COMPLETE COUNT this year.

ITEM #2 This could be a good time for you to do Family Research at ANCESTRY.COM — now available FREE from their company on your home computers/devices. Here’s the address: https://owwl.org/local-history-resources
Enjoy searching for your relatives, in the past and maybe even new relatives still with us!

Thank you for social distancing! We’ll let you know when your favorite library services become available again.

Be healthy. Be safe!
