Upcoming Children’s Events

The second appearance of Family Movie Night returns on Thursday February 21 at 5:30 p.m. Sponsored this month by A Smile By Design and Tony’s Pizzeria, bring the kids for pizza and a drink and a movie!
On Saturday, February 23 at 1:00 p.m., Ms. Brandy will host a Winter Tea Party for a child and one guest. Tickets are required and are available at the desk with a suggested donation of $3.00 per person. Enjoy tea, special music, and a light snack. Come as you are or dress up for the occasion!

Get To Know Your Kindle!

The Library will host a workshop on Kindle and Kindle Fire to help YOU with the OWWL2Go downloadable books. The program will be held Saturday February 16 at 10 a.m. with presenter Ron Kirsop, and pre-registration is required. In addition, a materials fee of $5.00 is requested and payable at the time of registration. Keep watch for more workshops on March 2 for iPad, Nook, mobile devices, & MP3 players.

Kids Programs Re-Start

Books ‘n’ Kids ‘n’ Crafts for children ages 3 and up resumes on Wednesday, January 9 at 10:00 a.m. The lapsit program, Baby’s First Storytime, also returns on Thursday January 10 at 10:00 a.m. Please call ahead to register your children so Ms. Brandy will be expecting you!

Dansville Rotary Club Donates $5000

Dansville Rotary Club pledged to support the building expansion project several years before the official start of the "Where Knowledge Grows" Campaign. An initial gift of $10,700 was accepted by the library as part of Rotary’s official pledge of $25,000. The pledge supports children’s services and earned Rotary naming rights to the story room in the Shepard Memorial building and to one of the individual study rooms in the new addition.

Those on hand for the presentation of the check by Rotary President Graham Marcus were Library Board President Dave Reinholtz and Library Director Terry Dearing. The presentation was made during a children’s story time program in the Children’s Story Alcove.
