Crafts @ Winter in Village Dec 2

The Library will participate in Winter in the Village by offering Crafts of the Season with Ms. Brandy on December 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  There will be a chill in the air, so take a break from your shopping and the joyous festivities to craft with your kids and enjoy some warming refreshments.  Note:  Be sure to use the special entrance in the Shepard Memorial Library building.

Country Craft with Tish Nov 30

Tisha Welch of Tish’s Treasures, Main Street, Dansville, will offer a special “Country Craft” for Christmas on Thursday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Library.  Participants will create a lovely wall or door hanging, a perfect decoration for the holiday.   Bring a friend, enjoy crafting and lively conversation at this event.  Space is limited, and a materials fee of $8.00 is appreciated at time of registration.

Oct 17 – A Gathering of Authors

The Friends of the Dansville Public Library present “A Gathering of Authors” on Tuesday evening, October 17 at 6:30 p.m.  This event will feature Gus Kenney, Aaron Lazar, Bob Sells, and Kay Thomas.  “We expect a lively discussion about writing styles.  In addition, we know we will learn about what each of our guests are working on right now,” stated Gerri Waite, President Pro-Tem of the Friends of the Library.  Refreshments will be served and books will be available for the authors to sign.

Library Announces New Hours In Sept

The Dansville Public Library staff conducted a study of “foot traffic” over the past two years and, as a result, Director Terry Dearing recommended a change in operating hours at a recent Board of Trustees meeting.  The Trustees approved the following revised hours of service:  Beginning September 1, the Library’s hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 AM to 8 PM; Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM; and Saturday, 10 AM to 2 PM.  For more information about the Library call 585-335-6720.

Kidding Around 10 AM to 2 PM

The Library offers crafts and games on Saturday September 2 from 10 AM until 2 PM for kids of all ages.  While you are waiting for the launch of the balloons at the NYS Festival of Balloons, shop Main Street in Dansville, and bring your kids to the Library for this festive event.  In addition, beginning Sept 2, the Library’s Saturday hours will now be from 10 AM until 2 PM.

“Rockin’ ‘N’ Frolickin’ Music” with Mike Kornrich

The Tale of Ice Cream & Frog Soup with Reneé Coombs

August 21-25, 2017
1-3 p.m.
Children will explore the world of art and imagination and let their creative senses come alive at this workshop. They will also learn how to use different art mediums and make artistic creations out of recycled materials.  Features painting, drawing, story writing, songs, and more.  For children ages 8-12.
