Introducing...1000 Books Before Kindergarten! An Early Literacy Program for Babies, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
Join us at the library on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1 p.m. for a kick-off party and puppet show! 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a national initiative to encourage parents/caregivers to read 1,000 books to their children before they enter Kindergarten. By reading just one book a night, families can reach the 1,000-book goal in three years and provide their children essential early literacy skills. Participants will have a reading log to keep track of the book titles they have read. All pre-K children, 0-5 years, may register for the program at the Dansville Public Library. This program is funded in part by the Friends of the Dansville Public Library, Dansville Women's Civic Club, and Kathy Rose. It was also made possible by a grant from Senator Michael F. Nozzolio. For more information about this program please call the library at 585-335-6720.
